flip off

conceptart is down. has been for a while. so, I am putting my practice up here. ah, no its not really a friving community here is it? ah, but its all I have left ;) I was planning on drawing a naked chick wearing a gasmask that flipped us off. But I already went for past my 1h drawing rule (new rule to save my wrist), and it might be too late in the evening to start on it after my break. so, only some ref practice so far.

grey-scales

well, I'm all done with my deadline, so I have a little time to concentrate on drawing again. SO that's what I'm doing ^^ these are grey-scales. trying to get a feel for dark/light and stuff.

'loopings'

(click and open to see it in action)

first try at 'moving drawings'; a new project im working on. looped drawings and paintings meant to be 'framed' and placed on a wall.
for lack of a better term, I'm calling them 'loopings'.

asses & hips

some aspects I tough I needed to pay attention too ;)
I started with a picture from a book that had a skeleton overlay. this was pretty clear to look at, but to draw it, it of course made a bit of a mess. can't say I minded at this stage.

when I sort of had the bones down in front and side view, I wanted to try out some 3/4. which turned out to be pretty hard to do.
So, I went back a bit, then simplified a little. that helped a bit.

So, I then went on to drawing in the bones from photo reference.

Well I was pretty happy with that, so the next day I did a bit of muscles, and went on to drawing them in from photo reverence again.

knees and legs

I actually meant to do hips and crotches, because those really need work. but the anatomy book opened on knees... and I never made it. kind of sad, in a way. :)

seriously. knees are hard. the kneeling one is by heart, the rest from my book.. and after all that, I'm still not sure if I got the lower part of the joint right.
the hips I did start on. but the book was a little less clear on that. or, at least, I found it confusing. showing different viewpoints without making it clear which angle we are looking from.
no worries, I have quite a few books. ill just pick another one.
